The list number would be the 1850-3 number, is my guess. The 1850 model has been around for decades. Vacuum secondary 600 cfm

does it say LIST 1850-3 ?

that's strange....the 1850 is a square flange carb, the Qjet is spread bore. Something doesn't sound right here.

    My Holley OEM spec book claims that list #1850A (there isn't an 1850-3) is a model 3160 or 4160, square-bore, from a '58-'61 Lincoln 430", '58-'59 Merc 430", or a '59-'61 T-bird 430" engine.

    Squirrel's right, something sound off-kilter.

My 1990 holley book lists the 1850-3

The dash numbers are revisions. although holley gave up on the dash numbers on the 1850, and the current versions of the 1850 are 1850C and 1850S for Chrome and Shiny finish.

They don't have externally adjustable floats any more either.

The List-1850-3 I think came with nylon floats..

    pictures?

it's pretty easy to tell if it's an 1850 or a spread bore just by looking at it

One of the best Holley carbs I ever had was a vacuum secondary spreadbore. Internal needles. The 1850-3 IS confusing. peace

Holley 1850 is the most common Holley ever made. It's a basic square bore 600 cfm carb. The -3 is just as Squirrel said revisions. No real changes what so ever. Just application.
