Most of the fab work on the front end is done now just a lot of welding, grinding and cleaning up to do. I thought I would throw in the quick and easy taillight mods as well.
The cut-down bumper guards tied into the '55 grille teeth is a really neat idea, I wouldn't have thought of that, but it works. Should be able to retain the stock front bumper pan now too, nicely done.
I havent posted any progress in a long time but I havent quit working on it. In fact I should be rolling it into the booth this weekend to spray it. We decided to do all the bodywork and paint it for real. I primed the last few parts today and have most of the car blocked out and ready to spray. heres a few pics.
It's been awhile and the 53 has been on the road for a bit now but I figured I would post some pics now that its painted.
Wow that looks slick. I like the paint work along with the chop. One of my buddies picked up a 53 with the worlds most hacked up chop job that I was thinking about trading him out of to cut the roof off and put a fixed carson style top on in place of the mess.
Thanks to everyone for all the positive comments! Mr48chev, I see you live in NW. The 54 I used the sheet metal from has a decent roof and it is already cut off. It belongs to a good friend of mine and he will let it go cheap. You would just have to come to Portland and get it.
