I'm getting ready to start painting my car Maybe someone over here can help me - I am do a 55 Buick and I'm looking for a light metalic gold and a nice (non-met) cream - anyone know where to get the codes from? thanks in advance HOK are real nice - but are probably not in my price line - a local shop by me can mix up some color - but I need code #'s jesse
Theres a mid 80's chevy/gmc truck gold that looks real good. I think its champeign gold or something like that.
Try this database for colors with the name "gold" in them http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?comm=gold&rows=50&button=Search Once you have a year/model/code in mind, you can also use this database to look at scanned color chips http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/ No guarantee that any two databases will give the same results!
THANKS -this is a good start - I have considered the Inca Gold before - it's very bright - not sure i can commit to that for the long haul - but it's really a sweet color!
Take a look at 72 Monte Carlo placer gold. I painted my 48 that color in 1973 and didn't know to clear it and had a satin paint job 35 years before they came into vogue. It's hard to beat the cream that was usually used with Sierra Gold on 56 and 57 Chevs and other GM cars in those years.
THATS THE ONE I had in mind what's the Cream on those? thanks everybody (even though it ain't over yet) - but for right now this is a killer combo
Ditto on the TCP Gobal auto library and you can choose the type of paint. Originally, your Buick was Lacquer.
excelent how is this quality of paint? http://www.tcpglobal.com/restorationshop/rspacrylic.aspx has anyone had positive (or negitive experiance with it?)
