How's about some details? I assume 4" stroke x 3 5/16" bore? Cam, sparks etc? Ross pistons?

Very nice! When I get the piggy bank restocked, my SBC is coming out for a flattie.

Verrrrrry Nice! Love the fact you kept the points. They always seem to run better for me than the electronics. The 4 1/8" is interesting too. I'd like to hear what kind of RPM you can turn with it.

I just put the exact engine on the dyno 2 weeks ago and had 196 HP and peak HP was at 4800 RPM buy I do not recommend you to take it there every day

  17. I'm looking at building something similar. Would you be willing to elaborate on the total build cost? If you don't want to make it public would you PM it? I'm trying to get an idea of how much I'm going to have to come up with.

Now that is something I admire for sure, normally people want to pull the flathead because of the delusion of unreliability and stick in the SBC... Glad to see you going the other way

Thanks! Does a SBC have more power potential? Easier to get parts? More efficient? Sure! But it will never be as cool! Easy ain't always best

I agree, flatties where used for everything for a long time. They are as reliable as any motor can be. They traveled from one end of the US and back several times. Flatheads forever.
