Projects 1950 Chevrolet Styline kustom

Hey guys, thought i'd share my project here..
1950 Chevrolet Styline; bought in the US and shipped to the Netherlands in 2010

 

I started to look at other kustoms to get an idea of the way mine would have to look...some of my favorits were Dan Landon 49 coupe, Kyle Phillips's 49 and Bob Nelsons '50 (probably all on Rik's photo archive)

So my buddy and I made a photochop of the whole idea..


The color its gonna get is not yet determined...so grey primer for now...

Started of with doing the front... frenched the headlights and shaving the hood..

 

The photoshop picture is perfect!

 

Looks good to me. Check out my build thread too, if you want. I went with similar proportions

Extending the rearfenders 4 inches...

Relocated the gas filler cap inside the trunk..

I am blown away by your talent and outstanding design and metal work.

The line you have changed in this car having really added to it's overall class and style.

Everything you have done just blends right into the original classic lines so well that when I first looked at the car I knew there was something going on but you have changed the car in such a slight way it was hard to see at first.

You have a real flair for adding just the right touch to make a classic car even classier.

I tip my hat to you man you have a gift that many will never possess or learn how to use.

I can't wait to see more photo's of your outstanding work.

Went out looking for a bumper to replace the stock one...
And I was lucky enough to find a perfect 54 frontbumper...


And when it arrived it met the sawblade right away...


Slightly modified..


I'm going to run the '54 merc taillights, so we played a little with the lenses..

Really like the rear quarter extension...great look you have going on there!!

 

Thanks for the photos. I personally like the tail lamps much better now, than inverted as in the Photoshop. Your work looks first rate. This is sure to be a winner.

 

Man that is some awesome metal work I wish I had that kind of talent! I can't wait to see the finished product!

Nice work so far! Keep us posted on the progress. Looks like you started with a nice, unmolested, solid, original car. I'm tellin ya... That's the way to do do it. The extra cash spent on a solid car is made back 10 fold when you don't have to fix a rusty P.O.S. while you customize. The better car you start with, the better car you end up with. Awsome! Can't wait to see more.
