New as of today ... love what I have been reading and thought I would join. I have loved cars and trucks as long as I can remember. I loved riding in my pops old 50 shoebox, standing up right beside him driving. He would sit me on his lap and let me drive and shift that 3 on the tree from time to time. What great memories. I know, have a son and will be passing it all to him. He is a little hotrodder now. Look forward to the chats and hope to be of help as much as asking for it. A little more info on me ... I should have read a few more intro's before I posted ... Where do I start? Cars have been in my blood since I was a toddler. 50's cars were good used cars by then and we could only afford the used. At the time, I really didn't understand, but soon learned. Being from a financially challenged family, we bought our parts from our local salvage yards and that’s how it all began for me. Hell we could buy a POS and make a weekend cruiser out of it. Most of the kids in high school had their parents buy them a car to drive. I got an inheritance. It was $450.00. I bought a damn nice truck, a 1955 chevy swb , body was in great shape, just didn’t run. Then came, my first engine swap, wow it was easy and the rest is History. I have been doing the same for years. My wife says “I never know what’s gonna be in the drive way, When I come home”. And that, she is right, don’t tell her I said she was right! She’ll use that against me! Gadget
