Hi im wondering if there are any headers made to fit the 40 plymouth with a 350 sbc because regular headers will hit the steering column. Thx

We went with fenderwell headers from Speedway. We had to run ujoints in the steering to go around it.

Not sure if a 40 is just like a 48....but on my 48, I had to use a stock chevy "Ram's Horn" manifold that had the outlet angled back to clear the steering box, and offset the engine towards the passenger side a bit for clearance. Worked out well though.

I just put some block huggers on a 37, but still had to cut the collector off, add an offset & "bump-in" to clear & it's tight.

What's the matter with fenderwell headers for a street machine as Blacktop Graffiti mentioned?? You may have got the wrong impression seeing his with the front clip off.

i am going to try a 62/63 vette exhaust from speedway for another project. looks about as small as they come and pretty cheap to. primaries are as big as regular headers it seems.

My Dad's car will be stock visually. It was the only way to clear the steering box. It's not going to run with the front end off.
