Waiting on a few parts to ship, got bored and decided to throw the front end on. This is the first time i've seen it on since the day i got it. I'm pretty stoked.

Duude, nice work man!! Wish I had your welding skills. Sucks to be stuck on your welder's schedule, when and if he can do it today, etc. Gotta pick up the skill and do it my damn self!
    Keep it up bro!

Im running a booster under the floor from speedway. The brake lever also came from speedway 49-54 chevy. Although I had to make a bracket to mount it on. It is setup to mount to the original trans. x member, but I pulled mine x member out and used a different one.

    Thanks

Well, I just finished with the first rear inner fender. I will try to get some picks of the inside to get a better idea of how I did it. But for now, here's how its looking.

Couple questions for you.. Im getting ready to start on my floors.. Ive already cut out the bad and part of that was the floor supports. I see you are using what looks to be 1x2 tubing for your lower floor structure. That being said how are are you attaching that under floor structure to the frame.. by this im curious how you are running your bolts. Are you putting them in pockets so they dont stick up higher than the floor? Also how are you mounting your seats to the new floor? Are you welding up more tubing under the floor brackets for the seats or just bolting directly to the floor sheet metal? Im trying to dot all my i 's and cross all my t 's before i dive in to mine. Thanks! -Luke

    Andy,

I may have just answered my own question.. from this picture it looks like you may have just made frame mounted tabs. I am still interested in how you are mounting your seat though! Thanks!

The frame mount tab you see in that picture is actually one of the original ones. I used 2 inch long pieces of 2x2 inch 3/16 angle iron for the others. I drilled 1 inch holes through the top of the 2x1 tubing so the bolt is recessed. For now I have a bolt passing through with a nylock on the bottom side, but for final assembly I think I will weld nuts in the pockets and run bolts up from underneath and make some caps to fill holes under the carpet. As for the seat, I welded some 1x1 tubing under the floor pans for the original bench to mount to. I might end up putting buckets in it though, so that may change. I have enough bracing under the floor that i could probably get away with just mounting to the sheet metal and using some heavy washers.
