Hi, please can anyone ID this? It is advertised as a 1932 Model 18 Sedan, but did they ever have suicide doors on the Tudor? Is this a B converted to V8, I cant tell. Help!

  2. It's an English (UK) bodied 32 sedan. Odd that it's a left hand drive.
The English sedans had suicide doors, odd screen and roof shape. Still a cool car though

  3. English 1932 sedans have suicide doors.

you might also notice the hood side panels are a carry over on the UK sedans,,they resemble the Model A.

Odd that the steering is mounted in that position. HRP

Maybe it was built for a US official?

Thanks Guys, is there a way of telling if it was originally a Model B or a V8?

  8. No,originally the 32 was equipped with fenders very similar to what we are familiar with.

The 1932 European Briggs saloon was available in both a Tudor and a Fordor.

Seems like remember reading the the 32 was carried over into October 1933 and I believe that is when the skirts were added to the front fenders. HRP

Here are 2 pics. One of engine, which has a strange intake manifold, and one of the interior. Any clues?

  10. The early RHD four cylinder firewall didn't have any holes for the patent plate plus it had the big engine stabilizer at the bottom of the firewall,,I'm sure if it has a V8 that is gone but the holes may still be there. HRP

Even the french 1932 sedans had the same body with the suicide doors!

  14. In Denmark, they built both european(english) and american bodied deuces. The european deuces where built in all the european factories. And the last was built in Dagenham GB in 1935.
And they built both model B and model 18 in Denmark
In GB, they thought, the 1934 model needed a facelift. So they changed the fenders and chromed the grill shell.
I saw a norwegian 32 last weekend at the A Bombers Old Style Weekend, that came from GB. But its the first ive seen with those fenders and it didnt have the chromed grill shell

  15. In Europe American and European bodies were build side by side.
A Euro version can be a Model B or a more rare type 18.
The name 'English' in my opinion isn't right because they were build also
in France, Denmark, Holland, Germany and probably more countries.
My American body type 18 tudor was build in France, my Danish black model B in Denmark and from my half green model B i don't know.
They are all left hand drive.
Deuces with skirted fenders were build in 1933 - 1934 and 1935, the last year European
    deuces left the factory

Thank you Hennie. I find this European '32 Ford history to be very interesting. Bob

  17. And Belgium, Spain, Turkey and Polan. And propably more
And the skirtet fenders came in 33, as you say.
And the chromed grill shell came in 34.
And the last Tudors built in Dagenham, in 35, was for the police.
