It turned out WAY better then expected.. I guess all my endless days of blocking and wetsanding payed off.

Oh and to answer the brake question it has stock drums with a dual reservoir master.

Black on black with blackwalls? I'm in love. You have taste, and talent. Enjoy that old Ford!

Great build...I like the fact that it still looks like an old truck, inside and out. My dad is doing a 49 F-1 right now...I'll hafta show this to him.

Drooool, that is beautiful, a black F-1 sure does look killer.

Your thread has been a real inspiration to me, I bought my F-3 while in college(still am) and am getting it to the driving around in primer stage. Someday in the future, maybe it will look like yours! :)

Damn that's pretty! Could I ask you to reconsider putting white walls on this truck? It looks soooooooo damn good with the blackwalls and black wheels, I wouldn't change a thing but better black paint on the wheels themselves.

I drove the heck out of it today with the family packed in the cab....clocked over 200 miles today........ it felt great...nothing like driving a hot rod with new paint!!!

I got a LOT of offers to buy it...so I must have done something right!!!

I spent a full day cleaning all the hidden wet sanding sludge out of it and going over all the bolts to make sure I got everything tight...

The bad thing is that I now realize how ugly my engine compartment is... not that I pop the hood and show the engine much....BUT when I get some free time I may have to mask off the engine and put some gloss paint on the firewall to dress it up.

it has lots of paint chips and dull looking old paint.

I was using a soaked rag to scrub the sludge off...

I touched up a few hidden spots today and painted the firewall so it looks a bit better now.

I never though I would use the stuff in a hot rod BUT A friend of mine gave me a partial box of dynamat also so I took my headliner down and pasted up a bunch.....I figured what the heck it is free.

I put the headliner back up and pulled up the floor mat and put some on the tranny tunnel and on the some of the high spots on the floor stampings. I didn't want to put it on any of the stamped channels or ribs so it would trap moisture.

I put the mat back and installed some on the inside of the inside door access panels.

I took it for a spin and I think it may have quieted it down just a tad... the exhaust is still loud but it may be easier to have a conversation now and maybe it won't get quite so hot sitting in the sun now....that never bothered me but the wife and daughter may be happier.
