It's not that difficult to do, right Gary?

  2. Agreed, but you can edit out the picture and leave the link so it is easier for people to go the the post your referring to. Most posts with just a post # for reference I just skip.

I'm sure others feel the same. Just a suggestion to make a great Thread better. Take it or leave it...

    Post 49745, top picture.
Is that an early Vette in the background with custom paint?

Yes, I think we said the same thing. You can quote a post with 30 photos and delete all but one photo / some text easily before you make your comments. Gary

Okay, I don't think the system is perfect. I quote, and the photo doesn't come along.

I wanted to comment that the fella in the lower-right not only has his potato masher, but his rifle SEEMS to have a ramrod. Am I imagining things, or is this, maybe, a sniper rifle? Any experts on WWI-era German arms?

All three in the front row are carrying the same bolt action rifles.

EDIT....on closer inspection, more of the others are too.

As for sniper teams carrying grenades.....not likely. But who can say?

German Mauser rifles, extremely good shot at long range, was used all over the world until the Kalashnikov took over.
Looks to be early in the war 1914/15, Is was basically the German Empire against the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Ottoman Empire, the Russian Empire, the British Empire, the French Republic, and Italy.

FYI..The German Gov. had a contracts to build railways across the Persian/Middle east areas in 1916, there where reports back to the German Gov. of the abuse on the railways by the Ottomans, primarily of using cattle cars for dumping thousands of people at the end of the line in the desert. ( part of the Armenian genocide ) the German Gov. did nothing.
Coincidental, a Hero of WWI used the same tactic before and during WWII. Hitler.

    Now back to photos..

Mart, that's funny! (yes, in an old Hot Rod Magazine, the Mickey Thompson money meet at Fontana got covered with pictures of the drivers -- "Floyd" was wearing his face mask, to disguise his identity from his father)
