I've heard a rumor that Los Cochinos are Hosting a show called BurnOut this year? I have searched all over and can't confirm. Does anyone have any information?
I'm not sure, but the Burnout happens every year down on 15 street near the Heights. I haven't been, but I plan to make it.
I used to live on 18th when I was a kid. Went down to the hall to swim. There was a baseball field across the street. Watched a lot of games down there in the late fiftys and sixtys. Jerry Walker and Roy Lee Peterson were a couple of the cool cats that ran the area back then. They must be in their 70s by now. I went back a few years ago. My old house was gone and in it's place set an apartment complex.
I took it over, same place but different date this year...cooler weather in November (i hope)... Jade Idol and the DollyRockers are playing. Hope to see you all there! Billy
So John gave it up, huh? That is a good show, glad to have made the inaugural show. I hope to get back there soon with my '58.
Thanks for keeping it going, this is one of the show's I always look forward to every year.I was just doing a search anticipating an October date and found this thread.November should be nice weather...righteous.
Just moved into Houston from So-Cal and was feeling a bit lost for culture, especially when my primered 49 truck was flag by housing complex as "unsightly" and threated with having it towed if not hidden. My wife and I stubbled upon the heights just last weekend trying to find the Greekfest and felt that we had hit on a piece of home. Glad I saw this post and can't wait to check out the show.
We're gonna be bummed about missing this show... next year we gotta make sure it doesn't happen on the same day as Pistons-n-Paint. Cruel to make a brother choose!!
