A survivor that I missed once by 10 minutes came home with me Fathers Day weekend

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by steel3window, Jun 29, 2012.

  1. Very cool...

Man, would I love to have Ron's yard art.
I mean, a plane in your yard, how cool would that be!

    Great story, great car.

  2. Great story and even greater that he sold it to you instead of some ass that would put a chevy in it.................... now you are stuck with the disease of Flatomania..................

Great story, gotta say it's the longest story I have taken time to read here. Had to do it for a home town story. Hope to see it at Back to the Fifties next month.

Cool story. Really cool car. Drive the hell out of that thing, it's perfect as is!

I love the shot of the fuselage surrounded by PNW pine trees.

My '39, though not as nice, had a similar past and long slumber, until I stumbled upon it in Bellingham. It's great hearing the stories of these old survivors.

  25. Wow! What a story! You had me on the edge of my seat. Amazing car. It definitely went to the right guy and was saved from becoming an independent front suspended street rod. What a shame that would have been. The hot rod Gods are happy and all is right with the world. :)

Great story! Congratulations on the car, it's a beauty.

Side note on your hot start problem. A lot of time it's the coil. It gets hot then craps out. Wait a while then it starts. Repeat! Don't know what your doing with the car but if you want to run it around for a season get a new coil (and condenser - napa: Echlin IH-200) or a rebuilt coil from skip http://www.fordcollector.com/coils.htm.
