Hi, I haven't had a restore in about 10 years and just received an opportunity to possibly get a 1930 Model A.. The seller don't know what they have so I can only give a general discription here since I haven't seen it yet. I have an appointment to go see it 6/29. It's a rag top with a rumble seat so I don't know if it's a Roadster Standard or Deluxe, or maybe a Cabriolet. It hasn't been run in 10 years and when it ran it had a big overheating problem. Since it's been sitting so long and I'm looking at a big unknown as far as the engine and overheating, I'm thinking this is a 5 or maybe even a 6 as far as a vehicle rating, meaning I'm looking at a complete restore or maybe even a parts car. I've seen some old price estimates online (1991 prices, Don Crum) and was wondering what anyone's basic idea of value might be... yes I know this is asking how long is a rope but I'm kind of at a loss and want as much knowledge as I can get before I see it. Thanks!!

I've seen nice model a bodies sell higher than complete running cars.
I don't ever look at a price guide before I buy a car.

Thanks, I agree but I'm kind of out of my element looking at pre 1950's

Sounds like it could be a real nice score if priced right. This is the intro section, you should go on the main message board and start a new thread.

You are going to get slammed with people asking for pics, so be prepared.

Good Luck and Welcome to the HAMB!!!

Thanks, I'll do that.. I thought about the picture thing already that's why I mentioned that I hadn't seen the car yet and judging by what the heirs have told me it's a 5 or a 6... Ready to be slammed.. but on the upside I'll have pictures next week Friday to post..
