Ryan- I think its only right that you bring back the giant golden bull that welcomed us all to HAMB drags #1.
just a thought... 8 hrs is a standard work day soooo think of the drive as a work day....with a really long happy hour at the bar when your done tk
If you have as much fun as we have a Picton Airfield Armdrop Drags it will be a great day. Enjoy! Don
Thanks Tman, I'll check on that. Ya that is from Mo-Kan, but it was 2004, it wasn't quite done for the first year. After seeing how much fun everyone was having that first year I knew I was bringing it back down the next year. This time around I am sort of in between projects so the only thing I have to bring is my 63 Chevy II wagon. I have registered for the stock class cause I figure if I am going to go, I going to play. I looks like it has gotten alot more serious than those first few years when you could make passes til you were tired of it. As far as where I've been.. I just kinda stoped hanging out here 2005-06 when work on my house and other "car time" stealing projects came along. I checked it out from time to time but seen fewer and fewer names I knew. It was always cool to see what everyone was working on and share some tech. Anyway enough of that shit. Looking forward to Mo-Kan and seeing ya all again. Smokey
Got it via' the link on the website & I called the hotel and they adjusted the rate...........Thanks again. Chris
Does anyone else have all 9 t-shirts? One from each year? I don't have an exact number off the top of my head but I've got a stack of time slips from that day. Seems like I ran everyone there at least once each. Ask and you shall receive
How long has it been at the Holiday Inn? I was trying to think how many I have been to. I think I have relocated 150 times for work. Wish I would stay still long enought to finish a project to drive to this!!
Yes, & an extra set that's N.O.S.......haha........and the ULTRA RARE shirt with the splatter stains on it from a couple of years back. Chris
No, I still have that also..........Haha.....and it's still in the NOS Doritos bag. Saving it for a "rainy" day. I'm still trying to find a High Resolution shot of that moment. Chris
I have all 9 shirts although #1 is in pretty sad shape. On another note, I have probably driven less than anyone to run at the HAMB Drags. It is a great to have such an event almost in your own back yard. John
I have all 9 shirts which I hide in the closet and never wear like some crazy hoarder guy. I also have the original pen and ink drawing by Dennis McPhail of my car when it was o the shirt in '07. Ryan was kind enough to give it to me and it is very special to me. (thanks, Ryan.) Here is the shirt...Sometimes I take it out of the closet, daydream about how cool it is then put it right back...yes I'm a wacko.. See you in August, -Abone.
My wife has used shirt #1 as a nighty. I know it is a little wierd, but for an old hot rodder, I find it very interesting. John
we drove 4,500 miles via Canada and Bonneville to the Drags in '10 and I raced the '54 and drove it home. We did a tick over 6,000 miles on that trip.
I have a pile of HAMB shirts that I do the same with. Also have the ultra rare jalopyjournal shirt that I am wearing in that group shot above.
I think it was 2009 I drove from Detroit to B'ville for Speed Week then the GG Spokane WA event then to the HAMB Drags, raced Big Olds then drove home. Over 5,500 miles that trip.
