    Al;I hear you on the off season waiting!!! Last year I lost do to engine and chassis issues with the race car,this year I guess the truck wanted some love[and a lot of money]!!!In comparison to the struggles,physical and mental,of others,it is just a distraction! ROY.

    As far as a social Comet gathering for our little group here on the HAMB,what would be better...HRR Bowling Green or HRR California? I'm talking about 2013...Thats if the world hasn't ended...

    A group is meeting at Pigeon Forge the week before the NHRR this year,I was going to go until my truck decided it needed a ton of expensive work done to it.The CHRR would be a pain to get a gathering set up,way too much going on,way too crowded[bad enough trying to race].The NHRR is more centrally located and appears to have more room for gatherings.No matter where it is done it would be a LONG[and expensive] drive for a lot of people!! Steve, Roy is right it's not a Factiry BFX Comet it could be a Hipo car back in the day he could have ran in BFX if no other compilation was there and win some cash!! Or maybe C Stock? What ever he had a good time.
    Keep the Comet Pictures coming in we still have a lot pictures that haven't been showed yet. ~~~~~~~~AFX DAVE~~~~~~~~

    Was the 1964 hi riser engine a center oiler or a side oiler?

    Mummert;
    The 64 Hi Riser was a center oiler, the side oiler was with the Medium Riser engine that came out in 65. The side oiler was made because of SOHC oiling system. ~~~~~~~~AFX DAVE~~~~~~~~

    Thanks Dave. The research Ive done agrees with you. Talking around it seems a fair share don't know or are unsure.

  25. Hey!! I took all those photos of the Cyanide - I understand the car has been restored and is in the Mid-West. One heck of a car.

    The Cyanide 65 BFX Comet was at the Mecum Auction at Indy in 2011, the Bidding went up to $160,000.00 but didn't make the Reserve. It is a Beautiful restored BFX Comet. A couple things weren't correct but mine isn't correct ether as they always say Drag Cars change every week. That's why all the old Drag Racers are Broke. ~~~~~~~~AFX DAVE~~~~~~~~

    Close, I'm Geoff Mummert. John is my dad. I kind of inherited his 64 comet that he bought years back and decided to do something with it. Thanks for the welcome
