Never thought I would see this again, remember finding it at a friends house back in the early '60s, thought some of the titles sounded pretty stupid ("Millers Ak Ak," Thompson's Mickey," etc), but the history here was incredible! (also remember how hard we laughed at one car powered by a "Wisconsin V-4 from a fertilizer spreader." ) this book is very rare now and so really appreciate your taking the time to scan it for the rest of us...THANKS!!!
This is one of the best books EVER!!!!! Best thing I have seen here in months.Thank you so much for sharing this with us.Ultimate Book right here. I love how they have a great Custom section.
Just bought a copy of this one, thanks to the bay. Thank you TexasSpeed for introducing this book to me.
WOW....a ton of cool stuff here! Thanks for the thread. Been looking for more info on this one for a long time.
Just awesome! Back then I could have bought Edmunds valve covers for my Olds for $27.50! Last set I've seen on ebay went for over $700. Matt, do you happen to have the scans in .pdf format? I was just wondering, because then I could read it on my iPad when I'm on the go... Thanks for taking the time to scan all this stuff. I'm sure your arms are sore.
Glad to help you out! They're all saved as JPEG's. You could start an album in your iPad's photo library and save them all in there that way you can read them from your iPad. These are all scanned at 800 DPI which makes them so large (larger than the book, in fact) and easy enough to read. No problem, Jared!
Yes, I'll do that. Just figured I'd ask... Once I saved them, I'll probably convert them to a pdf. because it's just one file and easier to handle.
Man, your finds make me want to go back to my old uni and start scouring the library for hidden treasures. Maybe I'll do that this summer and see what I come up with. As for not letting you buy it. That's kinda too bad when you consider that one day, they'll just archive/toss a bunch of the old stuff to make room for new books. Thanks for putting them up! I haven't read through everything yet, but there's a hell of a lot of history in there. Great reference source.
Exactly what I told the lady. I just may check them out the week before I graduate and "lose" them. I know I'll be hitting up the public libraries around here and see what treasure they hold. Amarillo has quite a few libraries here and there..
