Is there a HAMB'r or does any one have a company that they can recommend for rebuilding a vintage starters and solenoids?
If you can't find anything close or a Hamber give me a yell. I use a guy here who does only generators, alternators and starters. Been at it for twenty five years. Very good.
I went to members and looked up Dirty2 and sure enough he is in the business and is also in Texas. Zip city, where ever that is. Good luck!!!
If you need someone good AND in town, I'll set you up with my guy. He's got a shop up on Washington in the Heights, has been in the biz for years and does all kinds of cool things with starters and alternators. AAA Alternator Svc Address: 2111 Washington Ave, Houston, TX 77007 Phone:(713) 869-5849
Bid Daddy I'll got by AAA this afternoon. If he can't help me I'll be ahold of Dirty2. Got some stuff going to the big D tomorrow.
Cool. It's on the south side of Washington, close to downtown. The place doesn't look like much since it's so old but he can do chrome, powdercoating, and all that jazz too if you ask.
Steve over at AAA took care of me big time. He and his crew fixed my '40 Cadillac Starter up to look like new for just over 100 bones. I wish i'd taken pics of before, but picture it was buried in mud for the last 40 years then dug up and shipped to me. Now its show quality, and 12v. They replaced my solenoid with a readily available cheaper version. Versus the stocker which I couldn't even find a used version under $300, which was 10x's what I got the whole starter for. Now I've got Steve working on my generator. Everythings coming together. So thank you for the point in the right direction BigDdy.
