Hey guys. I know there is an HEMI speed parts thread, and others. How about an MEL speed parts photo thread? (for those not in the know MEL (Mercury, Edsel, Lincoln) engines were in 383, 410, 430 and 460 CID)

I only found threads that talked about the engines. Nothing with photos of specific speed parts JUST for MEL. If you know of others, can you post them?

Here's what I know to be available for em...

There was a factory Tri-Power setup in 1958 as a dealer-installed accessory. This made the 1958 430 the first factory American engine to hit 400hp. I don't recall if the Mercury setups were factory installed or not, they were called Super Marauders.

The Lincoln setup was a dealer accessory and is incredibly rare, I have heard anywhere from 20-50 were made. The air cleaners differ in that the Mercury one says "Super Marauder" on it in script along with "400HP" while the Lincoln one is plain.

The last Lincoln setup that I knew of sold for $6500 at auction 6 years ago in need of restoration.

Edelbrock also made a tri-power intake Manifold, it's part L300. These I have seen pop up for sale on occasion.

Ive seen Hilborn setups for them and I have also seen a 6 log setup but I seem to remember that the 6 log was adapted for use on an MEL.

These are some of my personal stash:)

A Hilborn and Vertex on the gold '59 and an Edelbrock 6x2 on the grungy '63. Both are 430s. I also have a NOS Isky 505 with matching adjustable rockers.

Weiand made an 8x2 as well as a blower manifold for the MELs as well. I've seen pics of a front cover and crab setup as well but don't have one myself. Yet...

    That's right. I think 383, 410 MEL, 430, 462ci.

Yup. The 462 was a Lincoln only engine. 383s went into Mercuries, 410s in Edsels and 430s in Lincolns and Mercuries.

You could also get the 430 in the Thunderbird. Rare, but it was available in the square bird.
