Clock...that is very cool. Another great solution "as seen on the H.A.M.B."

    Good work!

Looks good. Wonder if the wood and vinyl from the A will fit the jeep that well.

Really looks nice. I like the ribbing on it, smooth filled roofs are too plain and ugly in my book.
I'll be scamming jeep roofs from now on for when I get a sedan.

Dude, great use of repurposing. How the hell did you figure that out?

Don't let others get your goat. I needed a block-off plate (where my old mechanical fuel pump used to be) and a spacer to get my fuel pressure regulator out a touch from the firewall. I know how some purist frown on using not tradition materials or objects (not all of em). But I made them from aluminum. Aluminum from the stand of an Apple Imac computer that died. It works. saved myself 15-30 bucks.

your tell me... I think i did okay.

At any rate... I really dig your solution and you have some built in rigidity to the roof as well.

I love guys who posts negative comments and boost their post count so they think they look like they are in the know...

I like the roof, but who am I? ...a newbie who drives a stationwagon...

You'll always have a few in the crowd.... But notice, the nay-sayers didn't provide an alternative idea.

I agree with Gearhead...plain roofs are just too...plain. The ribs add some character and strength too. Looks great. Good job.

And those are the nicest spacers/block-off plates I've ever seen, grf-x.

    I dig it!
Another good source is the Chrysler mini-vans.

  17. early 60s dodge wagons have a nice ribbed roof, and its in the center, which adds to the look, IMHO, but I like the jeep roof

I used a top off of a 65 Chevy 2 door hard top. It has the right contours both directions. No ribs, but I dont care for them on a coupe. Ribs are great on the sedan.Keep on building , neat car...........

Looks good to me. My brother use to rebuild salvage jeeps 15 yrs ago, a few times he bought new roof skins, if I remember correctly they weren't that expensive if you can't find a yard willing to cut one.

Whatever works right? Isn't that what this place is about, hot-rodding and various ways to get it done.
