It seems lately that ANY side is getting to be the wrong side of Chicago. I've got 25+ years on the job and it's never been worse. We are out manned and out gunned by the bad guys and the bureaucrats running things in city hall don't give a rat's ass as long as the sheeple keep voting democratic so they can keep their jobs. We lose an average of 500 officers every year to retirements, etc., and the city has hired less than 100 new guys in the last 2 years. That's why we're 2000 POs shorthanded.

To answer Willy P's question, I'm currently restoring my 5th CPD car, a 1973 Chevy Belair. I have had a hand in at least a dozen more. We have approximately 20 restored Chicago PD vehicles in the metro area that we use for shows and civic events. All are privately owned. 90% are owned by active police officers or retirees. The oldest car in our vintage fleet is currently a 1954 Ford. Most recent is a 1990 Chevrolet.

I also set up a 39 and 40 Ford for the filming of the WWII Iwo Jima movie "Flags of Our Fathers" directed by Clint Eastwood back in 2005.
