  1. A shout out to Alliance Member Ether for the hook up on the trunk hinges and slddnmatt for sending me to him. Below are a few pictures of the truck lid installed and working on final fit.

  6. Struggling with the hood :/ . It fits good in the hole and can close fine but when you open it all hell breaks loose - LOL

I've had a long conversation with Slddnmatt and we are going to deploy some of his advice and see where we get.

Every time I'm satisfied with what I got, I see something that I want. I hate this board.

  13. Doug, the installation on the latches looks great. Bob did a nice job. Glad to see some pictures of the latches installed. I missed the original post here, but saw it now. Your car is coming out great so far. Terry

  14. Back from the sandblaster and as we expected some more metal work was revealed. We are trying to get the metal work wrapped up so the priming blocking and paint can begin.

NO CHOP!! Ya-Hoo, I love stock height tops as they are so friggin rare these days. And of course chopped Merc's rule as well. ~sololobo~

  18. Stay with the no chop.

  19. Thanks for the comments and rest assured no tops will be chopped :). Trying to stay true to "mild custom" theme.

Nice build. I like the running of the trunk release cable threw brake line. Im going to remember that trick some door handles/latches I have that are going to be cable operated. Thanks for a great Idea.

The update this week inches us a little closer to the shinny black paint I have been waiting for. Bob did up some slick inner fender panels up front and a clean cover over the rear end that took up residence in the trunk area. Fine tuning the body panels, one by one, as we breath life back into this once forgotten old Mercury.
