Older guy I buy from has a ton of older hot rod stuff. He used to run this on his corvett, and his 28 coupe back in 1962. He bought it new in 61 and boxed, and shelved it in 63.. There it sat till 2012. Tight as a drum, very smooth rotors look like new... Needs some seals and berring.. but I think it is very cool piece of old speed equipment! He ran this in a 327, Ive got a very mild 350 but is it to small for 350? Its running A 25% OVERDRIVE. I think its a 25% over drive... its a 21" bottom pullet and 15" blower pulley... is that math correct? THOUGHTS?
Its definately smaller than a 471 the intake alone is hard to come by and the drive set up is pretty cool too.
Should work on just about any SBC. Send it to me and I'll check it on my car. I'll pay shipping. That's how I roll.
Neat blower. Your crank pulley is 21" and your blower pulley is 15". I think you would divide the upper into the lower(21 divided by 15= 1.4-40% overdrive?
You may be surprised at the performance you can get with that unit . At +40% its moving a lot of air. Cool piece!
I'll say this, I have purchased several old school things from this gentlman. He is in his 70's and been rodding all his life. Its crazy cool just to talk to him, sometimes we just kick the crap for 3-4 hours. He has so many things such as 409s several 396's, 5-6 y-blocks, 5-6 flatty's..... 35 chevy coupe, prolly close to 60 cars. The coolest thing he has was a 1960 MAC tractor trailor.... very cool!! you guys say woth some money.... How much would you put on this?
Well gettn the holley 94 X2 set up for the fuel side, I figure it needs that cool last topper. But shoot that may not be enough carb. I may just stay with a 6-650 holley.
I had so many people ask me to sell it......In the for sale section. Not giving it away but I will part with it. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=7598390#post7598390
