I am not sure if the mirror was factory installed or not. My father worked at the GM tech center and purchased the car from there so he may have installed it. The car is all original except for the saddle paint which I sprayed in the mid 80's, paint on the roof is original. I love that aqua color, my brother bought a 63 SS 327 4 speed in about 1965, it was aqua with aqua interior, I have always wished mine was that color.
This is my 63 that I had in high school (1972 -1974). It was a 283 Powerglide. Another kid in school had 64 SS 409 425Hp that he rolled while street racing one night. I bought it and put the 409 ,4 speed, and SS interior in this car,it broke a lot of rear ends. When I sold it in 1975 I put the 283 and glide back in, I still have the 409.
Why is it allways snowing when you go and get a new projekt Made that trip many times .You start off in fine wheather and halfway you go in to a blizzard. Lights on the trailer stop working.Cops give you more tickets than you payed for the incredible find you hauling. You get two flat tire but have only one spare. You run out of gas in themidle of the night beacuse its some damed holiday so all gas stations is closed. But do you learn something?? ohhh nooo this is sooo fun Nex fall you do it again
sold a really nice 57 to buy my vette (ot65). now i"m looking to sell my nice 63 biscayne project to fund finishing my model a...and the beat goes on.
SOOO true! The day my buddy and i picked it up it started not too bad weather wise. But we were going to an area that is known for it's heavy snow fall and snowmobiling..and we got hit good when we were there. It was one of those snow falls that if you were home you wouldn't leave. lol And yep, i'd do it all over again! Now, here's another Impala pic..random one i stole i think from eBay. Aside from being an SS this was identical to my dads. It was an original 327-300 4 speed. Just loved the car so i saved the pic. Tony
I had this combo on my 56 chevy back in 65-67 replaced them with americans.had the black polished out
I'm not done. I'm gonna rid of those crager cuz everyone has them. Then upgrade brake and steering system and quadjet
This thread reminds me of my '63 SS 327/PG on the floor I had 20+ years ago. Light blue with dark blue top. I got it from a friend in a trade for my 454 powered El Camino. It was my daily driver about a year. It was stock but I headers with louder pipes and new shocks and some bushings and radial tires to get rid of too soft feel. I had some plans for bigger engine but changed it to later SS El Camino and so on. I was too young without patience to keep the same ride for long. Now I'm older still don't have much more patience on keeping cars long so maybe another one comes around. Meanwhile I like to watch what you guys do with yours.
That's because they were too heavy to be competitive as gassers. Stockers yes, gassers no. But you could always do the cool 'gasser look' to any car.
Pics of mine, Perth Australia. 63 belair with a big notch, 383 sbc n soon about to be rebuilt and body dropped...
^^May I suggest Decaf? Just pullin' your chain. I think that even the Biscaynes and Bel Airs can be cool, too. But, the thread does say Impala......
Here's some pics of mine right after i got married and got it painted, then after it got the dual quad '09 and was in racing trim, and current pics from where my son found it about a year ago, 15 years or so after i got rid of it! Been sittin in a field and rotting but at least it's back home!
