Does anyone know of a possible source for a fan clutch for a 1962 olds starfire conv.? I have checked all the sources I'm aware of and had no luck any help would be appreciated.
http://www.haydenauto.com/upload/HaydenAuto/Documents/Cat_Hayden/2007-hayden-fan-clutch.pdf knock yourself out, if it exists, its in there. Take the part number and plug it into your local parts place and I bet they can get it for you.
I would think it'd be a standard GM part... I've got a clutch for a GM big block on my 350 crate motor, with a reproduction Big Block Chrysler 7-blade fan on it. There are a couple different part numbers for clutches, but I think they probably have to do with the "tuning" of the temps the viscous fluid releases at. For instance, a Corvette is probably different than a six cylinder pick-up truck. The fans have different diameters, and different numbers of fins, but the mounting holes are generally the same. Mine came from the YearOne catalog. Look at a muscle car repro parts company, and they'll have dimensions, and you can go from there. -Brad
