Here are some pictures from last weekends On the Road Show in Jabbeke/Belgium. Beside hundreds of truck models lots of car models were on display. One of the greatest modelers Juha Airio was also there and he is a great man. It was nice to talk to him. His work is awesome. Here are some models from him and other modelers. Picture 1 -4 are from Juha Airio More pictures in my album http://public.fotki.com/carsntrucks4you/model_shows/on_the_road_show-2/on-the-road-show-21/
Thanks for the great pics, Juha Airio has been one of my favorite builders for a long time. His skill and attention to detail is beyond pretty much anyone! One of the few builders that can build anything and have it come out flawless! Doc.
Miwi, thanks for starting off this week. Here are a couple from FC59. The Corvette is 1.16 scale Hope you like Cheers Rod
Mornin' boys and girls. Great stuff so far. That Edsel kicks ass. The hauler is moving right along, getting close to putty time. Anyone got a running light collection they're interested in parting with?
Every weekend there are such great models posted here, I'm always thrilled to see what's new. Here's my new project, an 1/8 scale USAC non wing sprinter and a picture of the car I'm trying to duplicate.
"Biggie" model cars at the Garlits Billetproof show... First off, apologies to all the folks who entered their normal sized model cars in the contest, because I only have pix of the 1/8th stuff to show you here - they were in my favorite scale. I don't know the names of the builders of these big models, but if your car was there please add some details. A big thanx to the MAGS groups for hosting / judging the show. They also do the NSRA show in Tampa in October. There were SO many amazing builds entered. I also don't know who won what, awards wise. Sorry again. Hopefully it was a one-off trophy like the 1:1 cars got. Also, a BIG apology to the one blue 1/8th deuce I somehow missed getting a good pix of. I didn't mean to slight the builder in any way. Last but not least, Sonny DePalma's Fink-ish bubble top was for display only and not judged. He's out in a league of his own with these big models, they are just as amazing as his 1:1 art. Gary
Part Chevy...Part Ford Started with a Tom Daniel Street Fighter Kit(1960 Chevy panel Truck)..and a Darryl Starbird Predicta Kit(1955 Ford Thunderbird). Build progress and details here: http://plasticaddictsanon.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=autoinprocess&action=display&thread=1961 Enjoy!
Here are a few pics of my "bones" inspired 32 3 window for the HAMB modelers buildoff. The body was a little tacky (Testors red enamel, decanted, thinned 2:1, sprayed through my Paasche Talon) so I didn't want to handle it too much for these mock up shots. Few more days, I'll give the body a quick once over with some 2000 grit, then hit it with duplicolor clear.
My wife Julie's builds The shifter is made from wire that I braided and twisted, the cue ball is from paper clay. [/b][/size]
Gary, another great show with some amazing builders, really enjoyed it and thanks for keeping the hobby alive.
I had the chance to meet Juha and see his models for real last year, and wow , what an experience !! his models are just 1/25 scaled real cars ! fuckin incredible ! and the man himself is so humble ... he's probably the best modeler in the world, totally insane skills
Excellent Builds everyone.. The 53 Ford Hdtp Build kinda brings back memories of the 1;1 I used to own..
It´s you and your incredible builds that have inspired me to try panel painting! Still have much to learn but it sure is fun.
