Bump,.... quit procrastinating guys,.... Scan those old pictures, and post them !!

  7. Funny, you have exactly 12 pictures. You took a whole 12 shot roll of film. That was the old days for sure. If you wanted more, you had to find a dark place to replace the roll of film and THEN take 12 more.
I went to the Autorama, and 6 museums last weekend and took over 700 pictures and wore out 10 batteries.
No wonder there are so few photos of the old days.
The photos are posted in my signature

  11. Wow, thanks for the picture of Paul Hatton. I used to hang around at Pete's Customs on Fenkel and that was where Paul did his magic. Just like Bill Hines, he never was without his cigar.
    Great Guy.
I was going to send him this picture, but I bet Dave Jenkins has already sent it.

Rik just spotted that the license plate read 64..so it must have been a later version :) I wonder who the current owner was...

  20. I was sitting in class in high school when that 52 Ford of Larry Ernst drove by and I watched it from the window in class. It was the dead of winter and the exhausts were bubbling steam and I have that memory etched in my brain. I was 16 then and I am 72 now. It seems like yesterday.

OK I am in awe have been to many autoramas since about 1960 61 and am sure I have some pics. Will look but as I remember my problem was always people walking in to frame so have some nice butt shots and lots of hair cut closeups. Earlier there was a reference to Mayenscheins Phaeton built about 56 last I knew a guy named Spike McMurtie south of Jackson Mi. owned it it was still a beautiful car it was featured in one of the magazines along with spikes I believe 48 ford coupe they used an original copy of an article from I believe Hot Rod to show how little that car changed. Mayenshein was a genius I believe he was killed fairly young but what a craftsman!
