I picked up this shell last fall from 32coupedeville and neither of us know it's origin. I thought it was cool, had to have it. I intend to shrink it down a few inches for a modified project, but thought it would be nice to know what it is from first.

Don't want to cut it up if it is anything that will be missed. Here are a few pics. If I'm right and it's nothing special,I'll post pics later of during and after surgery;). Thanks, guys and girls.

Really!? That's not what I expected. It is dimensionally the same as '30-'31 Ford, but the top is 2" narrower than the bottom.

Googled '31 Lincoln and they are bigger and not tapered like this. Thanks though!

That's it,thanks a lot. I knew it wouldn't take long on here. Next question...they aren't anything real rare or desirable are they?

I saw that. Mine isn't quite as nice as the one I saw on there for $400, and he hasn't gotten $400 yet:D. I think I'll cut it up. Pretty sure they made a jillion of those things.

Makes me think of a 1929 or 1930 Oldsmobile.

Those later Whippet shells are not very common. and the older ones sell good because they look like ancient race car radiators; more tapered, a liitle shorter
