First off, sorry for the poor write-up and no pics, but this is pretty straight forward... Tired of the shitty cardboard glovebox inserts that came stock? Well, make your own. 1. Find/buy a cardboard glovebox insert (they're pretty cheap if you don't have one to start with. 2. Pull out the staples that hold it together. 3. Lay out your pattern on thin gauge sheet metal. 4. cut and bend your tabs and bends to form the glovebox. 5. weld/rivet it together and install it. I know the process is pretty basic (no ground breaking techniques here), so I don't mean to insult your intelligence.
I made one from an old steel "in box" found in the scrap at work. Good and solid, minimal trimming to fit. Flatman
Simple idea but works well. So does taking the cheap cardboard one and "painting" it with 'glass resin. Maybe even a single 'glass cloth coat too.
I have seen plastic trash cans, the kind for bed rooms or bath rooms cut down in length and installed. They find one close to the correct shape then cut the roll from the top off before installing. After painting them flat black they look original when you just look into the glovebox.
