In my 1969 superbee 145 mph and still pulling (coming up on a corner so backed off) also I got a ticket on my bike for 135 mph and got it thrown out of court , cop wrote it up wrong then started harrassing me and I knew chief of police and promised i would stop screwing around if they left me alone (probably a real good thing i was like 20 then )

I went 147 mph around Daytona about two years ago.

Went to the Richard Petty school and had fun doing it.

The driving coach told me that as long as you can keep a four car distance between us I will keep going faster so I thought that would be fine.

After a few laps the speeds were right up there and I keep going faster until all of a sudden the four car length distance went from four cars to two cars and I went around the teacher. I could not figure out what he was doing but when we got back to pit road and I asked why he slowed down he informed me the control tower told him I was on track that lap to be over 160 and they did not want me going that fast.

What a blast driving a cup car.

130ish in a 413 powered 1966 Dodge Monaco 500 on some 2 lane blacktop east of colorado springs. Not fun with drum brakes.

My porsche 924s did the same speed with 150hp

Been 120 in my 69 Mustang on contry roads when I was younger, same car 117mph on the dragstrip....Been 145 in a Diesel Pick up truck......Make weekly runs up to 100 while test driving trucks.....P.S. I turn up Ford and Dodge Diesels for a living...

Evo III... in '04 coming back from working nights in NOLA the Eirhart expressway was always like a ghost town heading home because the only people on the road were heading to the city... on the longest strip of the Road I was able to get her up to 154-5mph every morning... after 140mph it just got real smooth and kinda eery... like the peaceful calm before a storm. LOL
I was surprised it made it up that high but I don't think it would go more without any more mods... and I was running out of straight road. That car later ended up totaled and I ended up blind for a little while, I still have the keys in my room... Luckily I am with sight and a little more tame these days, a little.

On a race track....188.7 - Daytona. Ford GT40. On the street, Route 24 Boston to Fall River, Mass., 136mph (state police radar) in a Ferrari 250GT. Cost a fortune in fines. But worth every second.

I remember as a kid pulling out of the gas station with my dad in his 65 GTO and him hammering on it and looking over at the speedo from the passenger seat anf it read 130 and was still climbing, He said "Don't you ever tell your mom or you will never be allowed to come back over to my house (they were divorced). The fastest i have ever been was on my brothers Honda Super Hawk 996 (V-Twin crotch rocket) I took it across the interstate bridge and had it in 5th gear and watched the speedo climb to 150 before letting off because some van seen me coming and blocked me so i couldn't pass which was probably a good thing. That was the biggest adrenaline rush i have ever had!

127 70 Buick GS. looked up and saw the 80s CHP mustang in the mirror. pulled over and waited for him ( took him almost 5 mins ). When he got outa the car he asked me if I pulled over because I broke something? I told him I saw him in the mirror and figured he wanted to talk to me. He told me he had "friends" waiting for me ahead and then told me how fast I was going. Surprisingly he was pretty cool about it. After a lengthly lecture and because i pulled over without having to be "asked to"' he wrote me a ticket for 10 over. My neighbor after another lecture, took care of the ticket for me (chp captain).
nowadays they just take you to jail.

I've had my 67 cougar up to 135 a few times on the freeway.

Got to do some driving for a movie once with the same car, there is nothing quite like 5 miles of desert highway locked down by the CHP so you can go stupid fast. Went a bit over 140 that day. Came over the hill at the end of the 5 miles to see the cop car blocking both lanes up ahead, slowed to a stop along with the other car (1969 Chevelle), and then turned around and did the whole thing a few more times!

135 in a 04 dodge cummins turbo on the 215 here in vegas, 115 on my suzuki intruder vl1500 bagger (and I weighed about 150lbs more than I do now at that time), and the '35 coupe me and my dad built got clocked by a popo doing 105 in a 25mph zone on a 1/4 mile long road (that included accelerating and shutting down around the 1/8th mile point).... my dad was driving and got away with a warning and a stern talkin to!

203 in a Maxton prepped 93 Z28 on I85 just outside of Commerce,GA. Damnest thing is, my on board computer still had me getting 14 mpg. LOL

I had it @161 on GPS today, taking my buddy for his first ride in it. Hope to take it to the June 2-3 meet.

115 in 1987 in my Dad's stock 1978 280Z. It was still pulling but I saw a cop up ahead on IH-10. Got back down to 55 by the time I passed him.

He had just finished giving a ticket and turned his lights off just after I crested a rise in the road or I would not have seen him. I was 19 and I would have been in BIG trouble with both the law and my dad.

Dad, however, went 135 in that Datsun out in West Texas. Great car.

During the 70s, on several occasions, I rode my 1969 Norton 750 Commando over 130 MPH (as shown on my Norton 150 MPH speedometer) down the steep side of Pacheco Pass (Cal-State 152 between Los Banos and Gilroy California). What a ride! Its was like free falling with the total absence of any engine noise whatsoever accompanied by the loud rushing sound of a whole lot of wind pressing hard against your face and blowing around your ears and through your hair. Most west coast bikers of that era found wearing helmets very unfashionable unless it was required at an AMA sanctioned event. Consequently, back in the day we just didnt wear helmets at all.
The overall route runs about 12 miles but it is most exciting where it falls from an elevation of about 1,000 ft down to an elevation of about 300 feet in less than a mile or so. When I think about, it was definitely a foolish act of crazy running at track speed down an uncontrolled paved country road. In any case, once you got over 90 MPH you were pretty much committed to whatever speed gravity dished out. Thank you Lord for keeping my shades on my face, wheels on the ground, chain on the sprocket and my tires from blowing.
