Aftermarket banger intakes.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by kiwijeff, Jan 17, 2012.

  1. I searched for a thread on intakes, and found some stuff, but i thought it would be cool to have a dedicated thread. Im talking aftermarket stuff, not homemade, but would still be keen to see them to.
So who makes the coolest banger intake? Im partial to finned stuff, but want to see single and dual setups. :)

Does Eddie Meyer make one? Thanks, Jeff.

That's a Roof Cyclone made by Robert Roof, company name was changed to R&R Manufacturing sometime in the early 1930's. Based in Anderson Indiana that head sold for $98.50, 25% cash with order balance COD. Send me a PM if you want a copy of both pages from the catalog. Saw one on the bench at Wes Coopers back in 1974. Bob:)

Single carb is a rare Stromberg-Bendix that was available from Ford dealers in 1931. Carb is a single throat Ford flathead six truck unit from the late forties.

Dual carb is an Ansen with English Strombergs.

While not quite backyard they were hand-made for customers except for the cast manifold with the Holly-Webber, some of these have been in other threads for other reasons so I included them here, Pat

Thanks 37kid. I found the Roof cyclone info online and it seems his son is going to make them again. I couldn't find a source or a price.

'Aluminum Dan' Iandola has lived in Templeton for 20 years or so.

I have one of his old 2 page catalogs that I should scan, he built some really cool stuff.

I have been a close friend of Dan's for 12 of those years, I mentioned his home being in Paso as few people are aware of Templeton. Here is a picture of Dan doing what he likes best, also a picture of Dan & I, he is the one with grey hair. Pat

Not sure how to imbed yet. Go to Roof 101 Cyclone and 3 or so vids are there. Very cool stuff. The sound on the recording is awsome on the track that's about 2:44. Out...

  22. Thanks Benchdawg.

This looks like a Roof head, my daddy ran one in the late '20s. Contact Charlie Yapp at "Secrets of Speed Society" web site. He is repopping them, I think.

Thanks for that. I went to the website, Scalded dog, they are for sale $4750.00:eek:. They also sell the Lion heads that bolt up and dyno at 95 hp! wow! at 595.00 seems like the best way to go. Dual carb manifold, Lion head and cast iron exhaust should do the trick, all sold at his website.
