Going for exhaust Saturday and I`ll do a start up on Sunday. Hoping for no glitches with the drivetrain..030 over 283/turbo 350/9" ford axle Brookville body over a non trad TCI chassis hence the fender addition. Tried for a very simple traditional fendered roadster look that would drive and handle well. Was assembling to sell but I think I`m gonna drive the piss out of it instead.
Very nice looking Roadster my friend! I'm a big fan of full fenderd Model As, ( as you can see from mine in my avatar ) You done good!!!! Oh my God, I'm starting to talk like Bob.
IMHO, a Model A with an A grille looks best with fenders. That is a great looking car. . . . . . ...still needs a straight axle.
Nice to see fenders on a roadster for a change - ya done good! Hey, you might just drive it until someone gives you money enough to let it go - then you've had the best of both worlds!
Whenever anyone says that hot rods don't have fenders one like yours come to mind. How anyone could look at this one and not think HOT ROD is beyond me. You done good. Frank
Thanks all. I started out trying for a highboy but couldn`t get past the IFS. Both our other Model A`s have straight axles highboy style so time for a fendered car anyway. The caps are my wifes idea. I had Mercury caps on it and she found these at a swap last Sunday so I cleaned `em up, painted a little and really like these better. I think they are `55 Ford. The steelies are `53 Ford 15x5. Here`s some pics of the highboy start.
They`re done when they drive away for good... Sometimes hard to watch . I`ve had some favorites leave that I kinda miss although I`ve been guilty of keeping some too long also.
I think that even as a hiboy it looked real good, but the ifs haters would have come out in full force. Looks great with fenders, especially since you kept the 'A' grill.
