picked up a new project at an auction the other day. 63 Grand prix. Any other grand prix guys out there? Lets see them
Those are nice driving road cars when they are in good shape. One you don't mind a several hundred mile road trip in except for meeting lots of gas station attendants along the way. The 8 lug aluminum hubs were an extra cost option PHR and back in the day a lot of them got pulled off and thrown in the junk and replaced with regular hubs and drums. They were pretty well prone to warping and getting out of round if the car was driven hard.
Looks like a good, solid car. There are a bunch of us Pontiac owners here, if you do a search you'll find several previous photo threads.
I just picked up a 64 GP with a rust free body and mint interior. The best part is the rebuilt 455 with dual quads linked to a turbo 400 and locker rear. I will post pictures after it gets painted.
Spent the last week cleaning and tuning her up. Handles like a dream but got a couple of eletrical problems to weed out. Other than that im loving every minute of driving it!
Some updates on the poncho! Got some new shoes on it and lowered it 2 inches. Thinking I sould have gone 3", but i can always get lower springs later down the road. Also installed a new headliner and dressed up the interior with some mexican blaket in a few places and white peral pick guard material Today I decided to put some paint on the roof. Just base coat right now still have some wet sanding and clear to go on but its coming along. Sould have it finished tomorrow.
Great cars. My first car was a 64 Pontiac Catalina convertible and was my daily driver for 10 years. Still have it nearly 30 years and 100k miles later.
finised clearing the roof today, still needs a wet sand and buff, but looks pretty damn good IMO Unmasked
Oh now that is SWEET ! Good for you, and great progress. Dark maroon bottom works for me. Cheers..............
