anyone know how i can find out an old ppg paint code but for dupont paint?

    I have a 69 c10 with lt. green paint code 503 for ppg but I need it for dupont? any ideas where to find it?

    We still have a PPG dealer here, Do you have one there ? If you don't or just prefer Dupont go to the oldest body shop in your area and see if they still have their old paint chip books. If you need to match the paint see if the inside of the glove box door still has the original paint and have them match it.

    At the store where I get my paint supply's they have a program that will look up all codes. If there is a match for the ppg code, they can most likely find it in DuPont.

    With some tints no longer available I wonder how many current matches actualy match.

    Most jobbers can cross reference codes from other manufacturers. Another option is to have them take a picture of it. I think most paint companies have the cameras now, (PPG has the Prophet, DuPont has the Chromavision, etc) although they are rarely a perfect match. They will generally get you a blendable color.
