Customs The '51 Ford Grille in My Chevy

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Rusk, Jan 16, 2012.

  1. Thanks for the comments. It's cool that it appears well thought out. The design was, but there was a lot of trial and error in the execution. I didn't bother to take pics of the first two sets of mounts for the bullets....neither pulled the bullets flush with the center bar when tightened. One set bent when I cranked the bolts down and made 'em look like some saggy titties, native style with the nipples pointing toward the earth. Glad I figured that out....haha.

I had thought about welding the ends on, but I really like the the '51 grille in stock form and thought leaving the seam might keep the factory look.

Your car has always been one I look forward to seeing, the progress you have made in recent years is paying off. Car has great proportions and the grille has a timeless look to it.

    Excellent observation.

That, together with the thought, patience, and craftsmanship that went into this creation, merit a tip of the hat from everyone.

    Kudos!

Any time you can use '54 Merc bullets I would and I would do them just like you did.

i had the opportunity to look over your car at the Blue collar open house early last year while i was in town amazing workmanship you have a good eye for visual aesthetics and proportion.
