I'm kinda stuck between post war and early 50's stuff. When I think of interior, I really like the old puffy leather stuff with the aircraft seatbelts. But another side of me really likes the tight tuck and roll to. What's your favorite era and why?

  2. Late '50s early '60s for me personally. As for an era I like what I see in all of them up to the early '60s but for me personaly I like the early '60s best.

Now for customs I like the '40s hands down.

I think I am stuck in the 60's. I like simple. Small hubcaps, beauty rings, forward rake, blackwalls.

At first I was really into flames and scallops but later I like it more simple.

Early 60's. The age of refinement and the thirst for improvement. Bigger, better engines were coming out. Advancements in chassis technology were taking place. New tools and the knowledge to use them worked magic on the street and strip. John Kennedy dared man to go to the moon and car people worked that dare into the machines they built.

Well, the question needs clarifying. If it is which era do I most want to re-produce in building a period car, it would be the late fifties, and the late sixties. I am a sucker for channeled hot rods with white T&R with contrasting piping, lancer caps and cycle fenders, but I also like T-buckets with lace paint, chrome early olds or smooth back 9"s hung on cross-leafs, big slicks, big rakes and blue-streaks & americans.
If it is which period in motorsports history(That would include more than drag racing), then it would be '60-'70 ESPECIALLY '60-'65, for the insane pace of innovation and forward thinking.

I love all Era's of Hot Rodding. But my favorite would be late 50's early 60's. Being that I'm only 29, I also have much respect for the newer era of Import Hot Rodding. Gotta give them respect for what they are doing with 4 and 6 cylinders.

For me, it's some pre-war (say 1938-ish) up till around 1958.The 40's, and 50's is just my thing, even though I wasn't born until the 90's. lol

  28. I'd say for me it would have to be late 30's to very early 50's, but I'm more of a pre-war guy!

  29. I'm with falcon on this.
