yeah along with the 9 inch rear, tube front axle, disk brakes, power windows and I'm sure much more!!!!
Boy howdy, I don't know whether to congratulate you for getting hold of the car or send my congratulations to the car for managing to find a home in your garage. It may just be that the car is the big winner in this one. It made me smile when I read the first few lines.
agreed. Until I saw this... I didnt even know the car still existed. It could not have ended up in better hands. honestly ...for it to all of the sudded surface in Marks ownership; for me that blows my mind.
It is amazing to me that a man can find something that really makes him happy and we get people making ugly comments. Who cares what they think. Mark I look forward to your adventures and can't wait to see the car brought back to it's former glory.
Mark when you are done lets get The Crespo and The El Matador together under one roof. That would be bitchen!!!
I love that car...glad it has been found and will be "restored" back to the way it once was. Congratulations !!
As has already been said many times;Congratulations Mark and it DEFINITELY could not have wound up in better hands.I have always thought that was the most outstandingly beautiful 40 Ford custom ever. My own personal opinion is that el Matador could not hold a candle in style comparison.Go for it Mark!!!!!!
I am of the opinion that both cars are outstanding pieces of automotive history. like i said it would be outstanding for the lovers of the historical value to see the two together.. I am a little biased because i love El Matador Pics stolen off Rik Hovings site...
Both cars have a TON of work in them. I'm sure Mark will make the car everything it was. I am currently working on the El Matador as we speak. I am un-streetrodding the interior. I will start my own post about that. Congrats Mark on a real piece of history. Good luck
thanks for unstreet rodding the interior. can you put an olds engine back in it? Do you own the Matador?
I do not own it. Harold Murphy still does. I've know him about 30 yrs. I finally talked him into making it correct. I got the correct gauges, steering wheel, and a few other parts. Murphy has an Olds, but it will probably keep the small Ford. It is not the injected engine that was in it when the car was first rebuilt. It has a carb on it. Believe me, I'm trying to bring the car back. I'm taking it to the Round Up this year.
