Been tryin to trade or sell the Vicky, but no luck. Ya know the drill, every body wants to trade their worn out race car, boat, motorhome ex-wife, Harley, rods built back in the day of pastel and graphioc with velvet interior. Man sum of the stuff out there is questionable. So over the weekend I fabbed up sum hood sides (feally hate to hide the Flatty) but to get a differant look. Then Monday I started gettin it ready to paint. Shot it today, will clear tomorrow,
Looks good. I'm a huge fan of green, so I can't wait to see the final product. What color is the frame going to be?
Can't wait to see it with a full hood, it's going to look like it belongs on the Salt Flats with a number on the door.
hopefully you have ads running on other sites too. would guess that the price range limits interested parties. but, sure it is worth the money. resale red would have maybe been the way to go. but, you know the '32 market and what potential buyers want. nice work.
Looks great! The black frame and tank and for that matter fenders tied it all together on 32's from the factory so it works for you too!
It would probably be easier to sell Green with no numbers or lettering on it. All that "personalization" seems to be a deal killer for a lot of guys. I still don't get the numbers on the door thing to drive to Bonneville except for the one or two cases where the car was actually a known record holder in the past and one of those would look a hell of a lot better (and did) without the big gaudy numbers on the sides>
Anutter update: Stipple work done ( by the better1/2) Clear coat on and sittin in the sun gettin a natural bake.
That color change makes it a whole different looking ride. The stipple effect looks cool! Can't wait to see it with the hood and grille finished.
Im loving the green! I dont think i could bing myself to cover up the flatty, but i do think the green is a huge improvement. Good job, looks killer! -LUKEY-
I have been watching your Vicky ad and the only conclusion I can come to is - THIS ECONOMY SUCKS ! I am in the same situation though mine is a 3W coupe, it has not sold yet for $23,500.
Totally agree, that's why I'd like to do a trade. Seems a lot of it goin on. Just want to get into another 32, had my fun with this 1 Time to move on.
Looks great - I'm also working at getting my '33 repainted - which I'm also looking to sell when it's finished. At first I was thinking satin black, and maybe w/ flames but I think I would have lowered the value of the car if I had, maybe buy as much as 20%. I'm thinking we're gonna see a lot more flat/satin black cars upgraded in the near future - I hope so anyways, and I personally like satin paint - I just think it's been overdone recently. Nice work!
It looks really great! Personally, I'm not sure about the solid hood sides and I love the color, but I'm not sure about green for a quick sale either. Who knows in this economy... Best of luck though! How did you pick the color? Just looking for something nice to compliment the wheels?
