I found one of these at the Pick 'n Pull:

I have no idea if it works or not. Cost me a buck.

I've found old motor oil,old can of bearing grease,an 50's style metal tissue dispenser, a bunch of old paperwork/maps/receipts and some ancient road flares!(which we put to good use)
My latest find was pulling my passenger A-pillar cover off and found what looked to be blood? It's pretty crazy because that's the side of the car that has the most damage.

Found a large diameter 1950's Nardi Wood/Alloy steering wheel in the trunk of an MG Midget we bought for parts. It was certainly not for the MG and would have been found on a larger Gran Tourisme kind of car.

  8. My very first car was a 1953 Plymouth hardtop....found some weed under the front seat.

Years and years ago bought an old Corvair and took out the rear seat to find a Weber 2 barrel sidedraft, it still had gas in the accelerater pump, shot out of there a few feet, suprised me, thats for sure.

Some time ago while working for a local auto wrecker I was told to take the seats out of a car, took out the rear seat again to find a box with a big ass Dildo in it, haha took it in to the lunch room and gave it to the lead mechanic, who seamed to not want to much to do with it,, LOL !

Scariest thing was a friend of mine working for another auto wrecker,
he was about to cut up an old cop car with one of those chainsaw/fiber blade cutters,
you know the type,, Sparks everywhere,
so he thought he should to take the wiring from out under the dash,
as he was going to cut through that area, Only to find Dynamite set up under the dash,,
Yikes !! Lucky he took a look first.

Needless to say, the cops took that car away never to be seen again !

  10. I bought a little POS to flip for some cash from a police auction. The hatch was loaded with older gal fetish (60+ years old) porno mags. We had a blast at work planting them in the regular customers rigs when they were busy inside buying parts. Some of the funniest stuff I've ever seen.

Under the seat of my 64 C10 I found a few Twix wrappers that I dated back to the 60s, and a bunch of love letters from a girl to the original owners son. They date to the mid 70s.

The coolest in my book actually goes to something I found when selling a car. A guy coming to look at it showed up riding on the BACK of an old Electraglide piloted by a tall pale redhead with some great assets. While he was out test driving the ride, the redhead got interested in what was going on inside the open shop. She checked out some of my bobber projects, my riders, and all of my cars. Ended up dating her for awhile. I never did ride on the back of her bike, but, we had some good times! As someone else said, a future owner of my Impala will probably find some of her clothing that ended up under the seats.

Speeding tickets from the 60s and 70s in a '66 olds 88 i bought including one for going 135 in a 45 going up a mountain... Grandma had a heavy foot... Also had a stack of coupons for Carowinds (amusment park in Charlotte), entry of $5. Always think about going there with a coupon and seeing what they would say...

I check under the hood every time I get any service done on a car or truck. I used to have a small toolbox full of tools I had found that way.

I've never found anything but a few coins in the cars I bought.

No...wait...there was a small baggie of weed hidden in the little ceiling console for a garage opener in the 1987 Cadillac Brougham I bought. The salesman said that the dealer's son had been driving it as a demo for the last year.

I bought a '70 Cadillac convertible in 1997 and a couple of months later found an envelope under the carpet in the trunk with a hundred dollar bill and two twenties in it. That was cool.... ;)

I sold a 1964 Ford Fairlane for $250. Trouble was, I left a brand new set of mag wheels and tires in the trunk, worth about twice that. The buyer wouldn't return them; claimed whatever was in the car was his. I took him to court and the judge disagreed. I got my wheels and tires back.

  16. I completely forgot about the 63 C10 shortbox I just bought. I bought it from the financial manager of a local Cadillac dealership. The dealership had closed while they were working on the pickup, installing a ZZ4 crate motor, and 4l65e. The bonus was all the crap he left in the truck because he was moving. It was all in the back when we negotiated the price, and easy for him to see, so, when I picked it up the next day I certainly didn't unload any of the "freebies". The bed was loaded with 6 sets of Snap-On Jackstands, a 2ton Snap-On low profile jack, a couple cases of window washer concentrate, some tow straps, a couple gallons of Dexcool, and some other unrelated junk. It certainly made the truck an even better deal.

Check out response #112 on page 6 of this thread from 2004 because that's the WINNER for finding the most valuable items in a car he bought. Would you do what he did?

I just went through all 30 pages of this thread. Check out #565 to see who found the most cash. The grossest things found were two different guys found a human hand, another guy found two fingers, a guy found a foot and another guy found a foot with a shoe on it in cars that were totaled with fatalities....

    Great thread here.

Coolest thing I've found in an old car is the factory paint quality check stamp on my F1. Pretty cool thinking about some guy on the line in '49 stamping trucks day in and day out (Probably bored out of his mind).

I found a lever action ,very small 22 cal. rifle under the spare tire in a 53
Merc. I gave it to a friend of my Dads who was a serious gun collector. After that it was the usual change, nuts and bolts and a lotta dirt. ~sololobo~

  27. A while back I sold a '66 Ford crewcab F350. Now this thing had been sitting since the 1970s, and was a real POS. For the hell of it I opened the glovebox and here is the dealer envelope with owners manual, old insurance papers, instruction papers from the railroad who owned it, and three old registrations. In halfway decent shape, at that.

Buried in the dirt in the back of it was a bunch of parts for a Ford V8; the truck had a six in it. Manifolds, carb, fuel pump, a couple other things. I posted the manifolds here for ID and they're apparently really early small block Ford 260/302.

I bartered for an old '46 Ford Sedan that had been mildly customized. It had some ugly nerf bars on it, (look closely and you'll see the right side one) and a shaved deck lid that I wasn't able to open until I got it home. Here's what I found. Both of 'em straight as the day they were made.

I bought a '39 Chevy Suburban in Durango, Colorado for $200 in the late '90's. Found a very clean "Davy Crockett" wallet under one of the seats. Sold the 'burb for $1500 and the wallet for $200 on ebay!

Bought a beater '65 Mustang coupe from a friend for $50. Found a real nice Seiko self-winder watch under the back seat. I asked, not his, cool!

Had a couple of buds crazy into demo-derbying. Drove from Ohio clear to a yard in Alabama for a 'clean' solid wagon, to demo. Got it home to prep it, found 15 $100 bills, and a black snake, under the seat. Paid for the trip, and new underwear too...
