  2. So your "advice" is to not ask, not to research, because you might tick someone off? How shortsighted and myopic. "You have not because you ask not." I didn't see where he did anything arrogant, and in fact did offer to give "a gift to the manager" to aid in the process. Maybe he should try two to make sure one of them gets to the owner (or the owner's legal representative!). Any percentage, no matter how slim, is worth pursuing if you really want the car.

Ricky: Is it still there a year later?

This is the first American Classic I've seen since arriving in Okinawa. It's just slowly being eaten away by the salty sea air. Such a shame.

Ford guys?...is this an old Crown Victoria?

Saw a perfect one at a car show last summer...gorgeous cars...

This photo is sad...but I gotta say, it's also quite artistic. Great shot. :)

I was wondering what that steering wheel originally came off of,it looked to fancy for a truck.

  16. Awesome...congrats on the save and good luck on the build. Hopefully someone - especially the current owners! - will be in a position to get that Olds back on the road.

  17. Yes it is. Saw it in a building out on Kelly's Island when I picked up another car that the owner was selling. Probably still out on the island.

Yes Taff. You can't get in there now ("for Health & Safety reasons") you have to order by 'phone & collect the next day. The older stuff is only for sale complete - 10 years ago he wanted to sell us the whole (circa 1937) Fire Engine for £300 - I only wanted the ('36) Speedometer and the ('37) column drop! There are the remains of a '36 Woody, a Pilot, Devon Sedan Delivery and an Austin Dorset in there. Shame.

in post #2099; that is a 55-1st series. And that chrome grille is nearly perfect, except for some surface rust. My 55-1st had a bright grille and as so many of the 54's and 55.1's were, the nose piece was dented...

...they can't all be saved, can they? It almost amazes me to think of how many old, junked, scrapped, parked, abandoned and forgotten cars there are... out there. Millions, I guess. It's also crazy what some folks think they are worth, when you try to buy them.

    .
Question: why do so many have the wheels removed and then set on the ground?
