'53 and '54 Pontiac guys! Grille/hood pieces

correct,,, the "ridge" if you will, or the point at which it bends is about an 1/8th of an inch lower on the 54 but not noticable when mounted.

Either one will work.

they are so close that honestly I don't know if I have the 53 or the 54 on my car and the other set on the bench..... neither set lines up perfectly with the center bar...
but that seems to be typical of cars of this vintage they look KILLER but it you look really close the body panels and stainless fit are not perfection even from the factory.

here are some pics I took at the local wrecking yard, first is a 53, then a 54
only the whole cars were for sale, so I didn't ask about parts...

the 53 has a definate scallop cut into it, that the 54 does not.

***sorry I never checked the cowl tag! I think what I thought was a 53 was actually a 52, or earlier****

 

Just saw your post from august. Do you still have any of the 54 pontiac grill parts?

Does anyone have pics that they can post of the back of their 52 grill?

It has come time to assemble....and I have a few brackets...that I am not sure where they attach to on the grill back.
Or if they are even from this car!!

Bump......in the process of putting a '53 Pontiac Grill together. It was apart when I bought the car. Does anyone have any pics of the brackets etc. from the back. I have the main pieces laid oud but I have a bunch of small brackets I'm not sure if they even go to the grill. Any help would be awesome!!
