I had the opportunity to speak with Plum last year about some photos he had taken. A real gentleman. Thanks Plum.

I do not know Plum or his wife other than as stated in the earlier posts. It would seem as though he continues to live his life with courage and personal pride. I salute him and his family for opting for quality and not just quantity. My prayers are to him and his family for the strength to endure this passage in life. Please convey that when they feel alone they will never be, for there will be a Hamber there with them in spirit.

Bob is settled in at his step daughter's house, and is under hospice care.
He had a good day yesterday, but now that they are putting him on new medications he didn't have such a good day today.
Hopefully once they get everything straightened out he will be able to rest pain-free and comfortable.

  9. Best wishes to Bob and family. Thank you for your picture donations.

Our Friend Bob Plumer passed peacefully in his sleep <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com[IMG]</st1:date>Friday December 16 2011 at approximately 3am.

Dottie ask me late last night if Bob Wenzelburger and/or I would give an update because she knows a lot are concerned. This wasn’t the planned update, but God left it be so. I know the letters, cards, gifts and prayers are a blessing to her. She really is blessed, and doing the best she can, which in my book is incredible. Her and the family are a site to behold, and have taught me love, integrity, and honor. I'd like to say thats a reflection on Bob Plumer, the man, the legend and the friend.

Hang in there Plum! You know were all pulling hard for you in this end.

I "met" Bob throught the old Gas/FX yahoo group many years ago. We had a fair amount of converstions on and off the board. Mostly about local DC, Maryland and Virginia racers we had known. He had taken some pics of cars I was associated with and sent me copies of them. I finally met him in person at one of the early Gasser Reunions at Thompson. Great guy and very knowledgeable. Wish we had more time to talk. RIP Bob. You sure left a great legacy of photos that will be treasured for many years. Thanks and God bless. Say hello to our pal Porky up there.

He is at peace now and no longer suffering. We can be grateful for that. Enjoying his photographical chronicling of the sport served as part of my morning respite for years. And I enjoyed conversing with him via PM as well. There will not be another.

As one who never met Mr. Plumer in person, I still feel close to him through his photography. Through his camera lens he let me visit races I did not attend in person and I am forever greatful to him for that.

Rest in peace Sir. You served your time here on Earth well.
