Naah, why ruin a good stocker??? I'm on the way over to get that trip hazard out of your garage! Thank me later, it's ok.
Of course you should. Why let a perfectly good stock '31 Dodge go to waste. Cut it up! Besides, everybody and their brother are driving them things around, I get tired of seeing them.
It's out of a one of two built, 1968 Hemi four speed coronets...not Super Bee. It was a Mr. Norm's car.
The Coronet still survives. A friend owns it. Another friend of mine owns the other Coronet. It's blue. Oh yeah....they are NOT R/Ts either. Not sure about the horsepower.
Only 2 of those Mr Norm's cars built??? If it were mine, I'd sell the car and retire rich!!! But that's just me...
Did you really have to ask? I think you're teasing us. I'd be all over that in no time flat. I don't think I've ever seen a Dodge coupe hot rod build tastefully executed. Shoot, do it! Do it and share the build with us..
This thread seems a little strange, why isn't the engine still with the car? and The pics of your other car look like they were taken in 1974 I think I would sell it to the guy who owns the car and build a 354 hemi for the coupe
I can see your point of view and agree, on the other hand my '35 phaeton was pretty good as well. The way I built it, and if the need arises it can be easily restored to original My '46 Olds is similar but requires work as well. I like the idea of the HEMI though, a MOPAR in a MOPAR
if that cornet and the hemi are number matching it would be stupid to not put it where it belongs...your car would make a very cool ride with a hemi but not that one
I agree...put the engine back where it belongs....unfortunately. That particular HEMI is a bit more than you really want in the old car anyway. I'd go with an older version.
A HEMI in the coupe is a no-brainer, but reassembling the Mr. Norm car is something that needs consideration for history not just money alone.
that hemi's not traditional. May as well put a GM steering column and a billet third brake lite on it, while yer at it.
A Smart Man would leave the Stocker alone & put the HEMI in the Parts car & build a Hot Rod. A Smarter Man would Put the HEMI Back in the Mr Norm Car & make a Ton of Cash selling it to someone who would Restore it.
Maybe I did not read this right but what motor is in your friends ex Mr. Norm car(s)? Based on the value of an original race car with history would it not make sense to reunite the two if that is indeed where the motor came from? Lots of Hemi motors out there if you wanted to do this project. But as others have said and I agree it is your car and you need to do what excites you. Good luck.
