Note severe yaw and roll into the lost engine as his formation mate flies level in the background. It undoubtedly rolled inverted and spun and probably broke apart as it fell. A famous photo published many times over the years, one of my books on the 8th Air Force in WWII noted that no one got out of this B-26.

Well, Of all the year's I've enjoyed the song Night Moves. I never made that connection. Now I'll never hear it the same now.

You can say that again! We're partial to the Dick's near the "U" district (bottom pic). We're headed up there in a couple weeks and will drop by for our annual fix. Yum.

    Awesome!

How about a car carrier they build specifically for their cars:

  14. Ive never had the opportunity to check the strength of a 69 daytonas rear wing but I'm astonished that it held them up!!!!

I think they are metal and tied into the chassis.

  16. The Daytona (and Superbird) wings are aluminum, and yes, there is a brace that goes inside the trunk to connect the vertical pieces to the frame, but that center piece is not THAT strong! I'd bet that was definitely bent after that not-so-smart move.

  17. a friend of mine is an original owner of a superbird survivor he is about 6'1" and goes about 240 ive seen him repeatedly stand and bounce on his wing and he has let as many as 4 budwieser girls sit on the wing its still straight they are made out of about 1/4"thick aluminum thats gusseted

I saw four guys standing on one at a car show once!

Think about the downforce generated by the wing at 200 MPH and you'll understand.
