So I called Pertronix with my distributor model (Auto-Lite 1GS-4111-1) and they don't have an Ignitor to fit it. I really would like to do away with the points as part of the 12 volt conversion project. Are there other options? Do I need to change the distributor? Or..?

Educate me, oh wisemen of the H.A.M.B.

hook your stock points to an msd box. No load on the points so they wont burn or fail and you may have to look at the adjustment in 10 years or so.

So as long as we're on the subject.... what Flame Thrower coil should I use in conjunction with the 2563LS?

  8. Flame Thrower coil # 40501 for Chrome or 40511 for Black. (that is 3 ohm for the 6 cylinder)

A Pertronix ignitor kit,I have like 6 of them, all have the same number.

  14. OK, that is not a part number, but rather a date code from a production run. All I can say without seeing the part number on the box, or a picture of the kit, is that they were produced sometime in late 1999 early 2000 and are 6 volt positive ground. If you don't have the box, send me a picture to [email protected]

No problem on doing the 39 plymouth. Cleaned up, advance weights polished , case painted and the pertronixs module installed ...

So how should we have interpreted "We do have a new kit for that distributor. Just came out". ???

Who looks like the ass now ??

Cry me a fucking river. Hot rodding ain't for pussies.

  25. Since we are the manufacturer, We do have a kit for that application, which is what he asked about and should have been interpreted the way it was replied - that we do have a kit for that application, as in it is something we make.
On top of that we do happen to have them in stock. We do not sell direct to the public, we sell through distribution and dealers. So the back order he mentioned has to do with who ever he ordered it from. Also since it is a very low volume kit, we usually make them to order which takes 2-3 days from receipt of order, but like I say, there are a couple on the shelf right now.

I ordered throught the online store link on the PerTronix website. Moot point now: "Your order is being prepared for shipment and cannot be canceled or changed. Your order should ship within the next business day."

    'sall good.

I feel like a dufus for having to ask but why would you need to polish the advance weights?

  30. As a Manufacturer I said we have a kit for that, which we do, I never said we have a kit on the shelf, this is a very low volume item and we build them to order - takes 2-3 days. Sorry if you can't understand the difference, but then this isn't your order anyway.

That link is to an outside online store. The orders are fulfilled by our dealers unless none of them have the item, then we ship direct. It was built up and is on its way. Thanks for your business, sorry about the drama of others.

To make them work more smoothly as they get grunged up over time would be why we would do that.
