I have a Buick turbine 400 tranny that requires a thin wall yoke and having trouble finding one. My thought was could a TH400 thick wall yoke e turned to fit the buick. A driveline place here in dallas tried the TH400 but it was just a bit to thick

Any thoughts ideas or suggestions apreciated... Thanks Men

I had the same problem.. I just changed the tail housing to the large diameter size. those small yokes are very expensive when you can find one.. My way is quicker and cheaper..

You guys beat me to the answer, change tailshaft to one the same length. Be sure the tailshaft is for a car, not a truck/ van which is bolted to the trany outputshaft.

Sounds to me like you have a 1972-76 THM375 transmission from a full size car. Looks like a TH400. Std TH400 spline shaft diameter is 1.875. A THM375 trans has a spline shaft dia of 1.68.

The SP 400 I have behind the 401 Nailhead in my '50 Sedan Delivery has the same small diameter yoke. I had built a drive shaft for the car and put a normal 400 yoke on then tried to slide it into the tranny. Whats up here!? Luckily I still had the drive shaft and correct yoke that came out of the Wildcat that donated the Nailhead and tranny. It was a first for me too.
And yes Big T the Chevy 400 tailhousing will bolt right up the SP400 and I have a spare Chevy 400 yoke if you need it. I heard that new ones are running close to $100 now.

the early Buick uses a smaller OD yoke, but the normal large 400 size splines.

The 375 has smaller splines, same as on the TH350.
