As a farmboy in the early 60's, I turned a lot of wrenches on cars, trucks and tractors. Built a few "hot rods" in my youth, then family and career kind of got priority. Now, as a recently retired geezer, I've decided to use my time wisely by buying a decent 40 Olds 2 door sedan (Model 70) and seeing what might be possible if I do all the work myself. I have to thank a fellow Coloradan "Ratso" for telling me about this forum. He's an artist with a welder, and as pro-"do it yourself" as anyone I've ever met. I think it is incredible that a community of like-minded individuals can connect like this, enabled by technologies we'd never dreamed of 40 years ago to put together cars that are way older than we are! I hope to be a contributor as well as learning a lot from folks with real-world, hands on experience. As my old daddy used to say: "If brute force doesn't work, you are not using enough of it!"
Welcome from Hawaii! Looks like you have the beginnings of a pretty cool project there. What are your plans for it?
