Maybe he was talking about the hardtops, with the windows rolled down?

  5. 1964 Pontiac Grand Prix is my favorite...

Good looks with an excellent suspension and performance, that is once you swap the Slim Jim for a Turbo 400 or 350..

The suspension can be modified to out handle new cars with a few basic changes..

Drop a 455 with a Turbo 400 into it and you have it all..

Definitely a contender. 1949 Jaguar XK120. Nearly perfect.

Not to throw rocks, but I think someone meant '51 through '54 Hornet,
as there was no Hudson Hornet for '49. Here's a '53, thanks to Family-
    Car.com. Combined great looks:cool: with speed:cool:, getaway power:cool:
and reliability:cool:. There are plenty of us HAMBers who rank them above
Mercs, and that's saying something, since 99 percent of us rodder/custom
    guys LOVE Mercs!

I neglected to put this in my original post, but it deserves to be in this group. Aston Martin DB4:

'40 Ford Deluxe coupe (just look at them, looks like a hot rod just sitting bone stock), '56 Bel Air (perfect proportions and lines, tons of 50's chrome), '59 Impala (perfectly low slung and streamlined and not overly finned)

  20. If I had to nail only 1 down I'd pick this one as well. though '63 Stingray is a nice second.

1935 851 Supercharged Auburn Speedster has always been #1 but the Riviera, in terms of refinement, engineering and over all design flow is hard to argue
    with.

A '65 Catalina 2+2 and '62 Cat, 421SD, get the juices flowing as well.

    '67 Impala 427 coupe

    '40 Ford Deluxe Coupe

A Deuce 3 window or Roadster Pick up...

    An Advanced design Chevy 489-53

    A 55 Apache or Cameo ('57 too)

'69 GTO (or Custom S convertible) (Hey, I have one of them!)
Who can pick just 1!? Don't do this to me!!!

The only thing that needs nothing, left completely stock,a BLACK 1971 Hemi Cuda..WHY?? It's looks like its going 160 mph sittin still....

  22. I go along with this one. I am restoring one now.

  23. See now, there ya go... I agree with the '53 Skylark as well.

... and waht about a nice '49 Cadillac or Olds 88 Sedanette? Both are stunners.

wow, tough question, depends which side of the bed I get out of, there are so many beautiful cars. The list would be long, old vettes early fords, mercs, but a specific car would be a 67 435 hp 427 4 spd vette coupe.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I Like many 50's and 60's cars, not to forget the $$$$ Exotics. But I like the stock beautys modified to be more outstanding. Take a stock 32 five window, and a 32 five window High Boy with a nice paint job or done in swade, witch one will draw more attention?

1947 2nd - 1953 Chevy 1/2- or 3/4-ton pickup. Some day I WILL get one of them. I think they actually are best looking when stock and (at least front end) in stock height.

'49-'50 mercury and chevy are cool in stock form, but customizing at least a little would be temptating.

I would have to say first choice is a 1934 coupe 3 window, 1940,1941 willys coupe,,sedan would be the 1949 merc, and truck would be the 1952 ford f1 with whitewalls....and of course all these cars would be black
