There were plenty of nice cars, a swap meet and great weather today at the Garlits Museum in Ocala, FL. Here are some pix of my favorites. The Altered Irons CC did a great job hosting the event (I'm brown nosing here, too) and I received the coveted Coolest Hot Rod Award. It was also a good road test for the 27, now that I've got the engine and tranny working well. I made it up and back to the show at 75-80 (with some bursts to 115 just for fun), at an easy 2200 rpm. I haven't checked my mpg yet, will do that Sunday AM before taking off to the Billetproof Drags in Lakeland tomorrow. SO much to do this time of year in Florida! Later, Gary PS... I only got 22 mpg yesterday it would seem. Dang. Hopefully I can improve it a few mpg by not horsing around so much and perhaps keeping it below 75. 25 has always been the goal, given the size of the brick I'm driving.
Thanks for the pics...and congrats on winning the coolest hot rod award. Car stuff is pretty much done up here in N.E....except for a couple of swap meets. I've already had to scrape my windshield....UGGG
I got a email photo of that Divco! but, mine came with Milk jugs! from my brother who went to the show. Mel
nobody's flippin' out about the name? really? is it becuuse "garlit's" named it? nobodys going to flip out? won't somebody flip out about the name? good.
Congratulations on the pick ( translated "trophy whore"). Just kidding. Looks like some pretty good compamy.
Thanx... I think it was an award - it might have been one of those ultra-double-secret pig party kinds of practical jokes - but I took it in good faith. Gary
