Been a few years since I did any spraying, but with the colder weather moving in here in S. Wisconsin, I figured I better get going.... So been prepping for the last few days, then sprayed the top on my '63 Biscayne project. Kept the heat in the lower 70's in the shop, and will keep it that way for another day or so..... Used the JD Blitz black I have been asking about, and it laid down real nice. Will know for sure tomorrow when I take the masking off and pull it outside to look closer.... The bottom will be a lighter Battleship Grey with a bit of flattening agent to it. This week I will try to finish the body work on the bottom, then get that painted too....... Bear in mind that my talents are limited to a ~10 footer... so I am very pleased with it. From day one, this is meant to be a low budget nice driver, not a show car, so I am quite pleased with how it is coming out.... Here are a few pics of today's work.......will post a pic or two of it tomorrow outside and unmasked... Cheers, Bob
Well, one step closer....supposed to be 63* tomorrow, and 60* on Wednesday, so have been working a lot of hours getting ready to paint the bottom !! Sanded it three times by hand.....took it outside this morning to wash it down, now it is in the shop basking in about 73* heat. Will mask off and paint the bottom tomorrow.....!! OH, and BobWop...what you think now of my BLACK wheels !!! Cheers....
I don't mind the white letter tires but the black bumpers are not my favorite. How about some gold paint on them? Sorry to be so nosy----I mean well.
Bahahaha....good one, But I can't use my gold paint, or I wouldn't have anything to sniff while dreaming up this oddball stuff !!! And the part that will really crack you up is the bumpers were in real nice shape too.......
Must be a slow night......we all seem to be cruising the forum tonight !!! Hope we don't get in trouble with the "Cops" !!
looks good Bob! btw, I was in Brodhead this PM. I was afraid to look you up...but now that Deliverance is no longer on your car I am not afraid.
And the last page of the paint saga.....Wallaaaa.....Done. Put the emblems/etc. back on, final painted the bumpers, and it is done!!! Been a long haul, but I am pleased, and have far surpassed my expectations for my limited talents.... Still a few electrical things to finish, then done.... Wait did I day DONE ??? Hmmmmmmmm...... Next maybe a 348 tri-power....or dual quad 409....or ????? Cheers, Bob
